| #153: Walka / Napsuu |
Giving the label a more textured mood, walka - another guest artist hailing from finland - brings more electronic chill with a slight techno sub theme intermixed. ranging from the repetative but addictive tekora to the sublimely chilled syy napsuu 2. enjoy! |

Anyway, tekora and kymm were too repetitive although they sported a nice depth to them. Syy Napsuu 2 was my favorite out of all the songs, it had a great "sad-silent" mood that reminds me of works like mikael fyrek and some of mint. | | Dalekk wrote on 01/05/08, 9:32 pm | Hmm, I am finally beginning to catch up with my missing Kahvi releases.. In any case, I just listened through this release and was horror struck when I saw that no comment had been made to it. Well then, I shall be the first (apart from 4T, but he doesn't count).
The first track, Tekora, is in my opinion good enough for the whole release to be rated cool. It may not be very Kahvi-style, but it's a damn good track. Some of the sounds reminded me of the ones in Basic Channel, but the track itself is more, uhm, happy..(?)
Anyway, the second track has a very compressed atmosphere. Seems quite monotonic at times, but there are actually quite a few little details which you don't catch the first time you listen trhough it. Actually I can't think of anything else that reminds me of this track...
The final track is very different from the two others and much more ambient. This track features an accustic guitar-riff that founds the base on which the rest slowly builds up. The intro is a bit long, but once the track gets moving you forget that. Oh, one thing I like about this track is that all of the instruments are slighty distorted, creating a nice atmosphere.
Overall a nice release with some interesting synth work. If you haven't listened to it yet, do so :P | |
