#155: Bad Loop and Recue / Live at Sundance
M3U FMP3  Tracks : 1

After a break of some months (years?) finally bad loop returns to the fold and arrives with a bang! in the form of a 59 minute live performance at the sundance music festival in tallinn, estonia. all the usual ingredients are there, from special versions of familiar tracks such as lumme to some all new tracks such as 'her wings of wax'. excellent production throughout, nicely mixed and flowing - an easy to listen to extravaganza which all bad loop fans and new listeners will surely love! also, welcome recue as a guest artist to the kahvi collective - his tracks alongside bad loops make for one impressive collection.

tracklisting:

1. intro, 2. nio, 3. dreamshores, 4. himanka, 5. eri valeire, 6. afterglow, 7. silversands, 8. untitled, 9. krikkit, 10. favourite things, 11. ruoste, 12. her wings of wax, 13. lumme.

tracks 2,5,8,10,11,12,13 produced by bad loop.
tracks 3,4,6,7,9 produced by recue.

awesome - AWESOME!! I was listening to digitally imported chillout channel while playing CS:source and thought ... I better kick in streamripper or I might regret not having done so. When I realized it's a badloop live recording I almost freaked. After my son and wife your sound's the best for my soul. Thank you. Hope that one day I'll be able to arrange a live act on one of my wedding anniversaries ;-)tom*

Getting into this while formulating the rest of my "tearing to pieces" of the Alpha Conspiracy. This live act helps getting down again.

Nothing to get a heartattack from because of overwhelming thrill like Esem or Alexey V. This is no first time listening knock out, but I'm quite sure to be liking this very much after the 4th or 5th listening. Sound quality isn't great - no surprise on a live act. There's lots of background hiss & noise from the audience, and sometimes the bass rattles. No headphone music thus, but great accompaniment while doing something pleasant. I'll give this release 4 Stars (of 5) and feel a bit unfair with this, as Bad Loop and Recue are doing a hell of a job. A good live act is so much more difficult than the odd fiddly job at the home sequencer. RESPECT!! Will be a steady inhabitant of my portabel audio, I guess.

heh, I took the initiative to download the file today. To put in my two cents, the performance was really good. Rich, organic, and breathing. I bet the performance was awesome. I wish I was there.

...hopefully for not too long. And then you´ll get an answer to that "who is he?"-part too. ;)

Fantastic performance, "nio" in particular is awe inspiring with how the piece grows out of the chaotic clicks, spoiling the listener with several catchy leads along the way, then disintegrates just as it arrived.

Are there going to be non-live versions of these tracks? It's a bit of a hassle to jump around the mix and there's a bit of noise from the festival (only really noticable during the quieter transitions between tracks).

I've been listening Bad Loop sine I discovered him on Kahvi, (thnx to Kahvi staff and artists for all they're doing!) and what a surprise to find a live available from my favorite net label. So I downloaded the file and imported it in my iTunes Library. The track is stuck, I can't help listening it, over and over again. So powerful, so different... So I disvovered Recue's work. But who is he? Where could I find some more stuff from him?
