| #212: Pece / Riddle of the Universe |
This time around we have a complete contrast to Lackluster and his works. Pece is an inspiring electro/blues/ambient/electronic style combination, and for probably the second time in kollective history, I`m breaking my own made rule to not release tracks with vocals with the superb, professional quality vocals by Zuska Gruner in `missing`. The ep consists of three tracks of sublime works - quirks, ambience, chilled and with some nice production. This may not be everybodies cup of tea but I think its a worthy addition to the kollective.
Credits for this ep: Piotr 'Pece' Cieslik: composition, production, recording, mixing, mastering, keyboards; Pawel 'boHtr' Drozdz: 'The Past' (acoustic guitar, electric), 'Towards The House On The Hill' (electric guitar); Zuska 'Grino' Gruner: 'Missing' (vocals), Wojtek Szupelak: 'Stormy Night' (acoustic guitar, bass guitar, electric guitar), 'Missing' (electric guitar, lyrics)

Its different, and its good to hear something out of the norm every once in a while!
Stormy night - relaxing, jazzy song with all the elements of a chillout party. Only gripe I have is the guitar and bassline sounds too "commercial" for me.
Towards the House on the hill - Nice breaks, interesting ensemble and a good flowing melody. The syth solo is pretty neat too! This is a cool track. :)
feat_Zuska 'Grino' Gruner - Amazing Vocals and a well thought out and "mature" track. Very professional with all the great elements you can expect from this newcomer. | | Nuchoon wrote on 01/05/08, 4:27 pm | Guitars made me think of Tommy Guerrero... in Hi-Fi ! | | Micksam wrote on 01/05/08, 4:27 pm | different turn then ussual. Nice. I was thinking of Ecco the Dolphin[dc/ps2]-style music earlier, and this compliments my thoughts a bit, just in a more electronic style. | | Coax wrote on 01/05/08, 4:27 pm | Very chill production all around, nice warm sounds and very air like atmosphere.
Smooth melodies and nice vocals on the last track, all around very nice. | |
