Kahvi @ Christmas 2010: A significant milestone is reached today - Kahvi releases now number 300! And celebrate this news, we have another album for your listening pleasure. Keeping the quality high and the audio fantastic, this album is a co-production between a recognisable Kahvi face 'Trx' and guest artist 'Altus' who hails from Canada.
Crossroads takes inspirations from some of the great Kahvi names such as Planet Boelex and Esem and mixes them with legends such as Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis. Long, drawn out leads combine with deep basses and addictive melodies. A great combination! Ten tracks of pure audio delight matched with an included widescreen cover artwork. Check it out now!
Some fantastic works in this release, but two tracks to mention would be 'The Human Condition' and 'Are you aware'.

My favorite track: "Unknowing or Unwilling". | | Gee Tee Age wrote on 03/01/11, 7:27 pm | Absolutely magnificent sound-wise. Those pads and melodies create a nice, fresh and breezy soundscape. The percussion and beat part sounds organic and in our days, this is very rarely the case. There is a perfect balance between bassdrums and basslines and the whole mix has got lots of dynamics, making the sound quality great even at higher volumes (which, again, these days is not the case at all. most new records are distorted by default and you can hear only noise if you pump up your stereo). Lots of headroom left there for the mix to breathe.
The record sounds as a whole piece of music. I can feel the lack of distinctive melodies here, as opposed to some previous records by the same artist. That is a step towards even more underground sound and another reason for this record to appeal to the more sophisticated crowd. These tracks can grow on you and will surely not bore you after just a few listens.
The reverb and delay effects, used here sound clean and professional. Everything is precisely balanced. | |
